Why I Collect Original Vintage Movie Posters
People often ask me how I got started as a vintage movie poster collector. It was over 25 years ago while in the Navy that I attended a local auction with several original vintage movie posters. I was amazed at the beauty of some of these classic Hollywood treasures. The first poster I bought was an “Abbott & Costello Meet Dr Jekyl & Mr Hyde” one sheet from 1953. The artwork was just magnificent. I would soon learned that this rare ephemera was not only an exciting collecting hobby , but also a great investment. Many movie posters I collected appreciated 50% after just a few years.
Vintage movie posters can take you back to the golden days of movies. Suddenly you're in the vestibule of an old theater... Smell the fresh popcorn - not the kind that comes already popped in giant plastic bags, like you get now...
There is a large niche market for original movie posters in the country today. Especially in these trying times, wouldn't you like to take a walk on memory lane, back to the days of the silver screen, by displaying authentic movie memorabilia in your office or home?
Imagine your walls tastefully decorated with real vintage movie posters: You could spend your quiet evenings with friends while enjoying posters featuring Clark Gable, Vivien Leigh and others from the golden era of films. Or perhaps you'd prefer Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers, dancing gracefully across the walls of your office.
These collectibles are beyond just “rare”, they're original movie posters that are a taste of a simpler time. They also tell visitors to your home or office that you appreciate true art, whether it be anything from movie memorabilia to horror movie posters.
Plenty of people display copies of these original movie posters, but it's not the same as having the originals gracing your walls. And with all the classic movies that have been made, like The Wizard of Oz and Casablanca, you'll never find a better type of art from the classic days of Hollywood!
You can decorate your walls with anything that suits your taste. Why not decorate them with historical movie memorabilia such as original vintage movie posters? They will add so much enjoyment to your office or den, and they're virtually recession-proof!

How do you achieve that vintage hollywood hair?
At the moment I'm brunette and I curl my hair using tongs sometimes. I really like the whole 1950s pin-up look and red lips etc... But how can you achieve it easily daily. Is a perm a viable option? And if you use rollers how do you position them to get that bouncy fat curl look?
Also... I've always wanted to go blonde. but would a perm and bleaching just completely wreck my hair ( i think i already know the answer to that...)
have you ever colourd your hair before? cos 'virgin' hair can be turnd blonde without belach!
secondly if you are serious about having a perm get them 2 wind it o big black rollers or the slightly smaller grey ones! i say big but ther really not that big at all!
ok so if your going to do both then... get the blonde done first then wait 2 weeks or so and get the perm!
but its your desision!
